ORIGINAL ARTICLE: FULTON — The Fulton Police Department is asking for the local public’s assistance in locating missing 31 year old Carl Lee DeBrodie out of the Fulton, Missouri area.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW

Carl was last seen at in the early morning at 7:30 am on Monday April 17, 2017 walking away from his group home, which is his residence, on the 900 block of Claymine Drive and his family is pleading for answers.   He requires 24-hour care and, although he is 31-years-old, his family said he has the mentality of a 7-year-old.

The police consider DeBrodie to be in danger because of his mental disability and limited ability to communicate. His mother Carolyn Summers stated that “Carl means no harm to nobody. He can’t talk that well, but he means no harm to anybody.”

Fulton Police said they have conducted a ground search of the area, as well as an aerial search through the use of drones, but they have found no signs of DeBrodie.

In a pre-arranged contract, the ownership of the group home changed hands. That transfer also occurred Monday morning. According to Fulton Police, Second Chance Homes of Fulton owned the group home when he was reported missing. Carl was last seen wearing blue jeans, an orange and white style polo shirt, a leather jacket and white New Balance shoes.

Carl is described as:

• GENDER: Male.
• ETHNICITY: Caucasian.
• HAIR: Blonde.
• HEIGHT: 5 feet 3 inches.
• WEIGHT: 160 pounds.

There is some misinformation in your article. Finck Supported Living was in possession of the property and the current Provider(s) as of Monday, April 17, 2017 at 12:00am. Second Chance Homes of Fulton shut down on April 16, 2017 11:59pm prior to Carl DeBrodie’s disappearance as it was Finck staff that were with him at that time.

In what world would a provider take over care and custody in the middle of the night??? How dare you misrepresent information in such a serious situation!! Finck Supported Living provide the best and most THOROUGH care around! Did Second Chance really think they wouldn’t notice that someone wasn’t there!!! Someone needs to investigate you and your purposely misleading information

It was in their contract. I’m not misleading any information. Nice try, though

So you’re saying that two agencies made a business transaction in the middle of the night? That all new staff, paperwork, computers, etc were brought in, in the middle of the night while the folks in the home were sleeping? Are you saying that all second chance staff just up and left at midnight and a new provider was put in place for the folks to wake up to? People they had never met? Are you saying that all controlled/medications/plans were reviewed, signed over custody of, and signed off on at midnight? Have you ever seen an intake? Have you ever seen a Finck intake? Because I have and let me tell you, it’s nothing short of an all day process. FYI- NOBODY knows paperwork like the folks at Finck, they cross every t and dot every i, and you’d better believe they know regulation and process, It’s THOROUGH and would never be done at midnight! If Second Chance left at midnight, why did they tell authorities he was wearing white shoes and a leather jacket, is that what he sleeps in? Since you seem to know so much about the “contract” do you own Second Chance or are you just one of the staff who lost someone you were in charge of keeping safe! Finck never laid eyes on that man and came in asking questions, and THANK GOD they did, now his roommates will at least be safe.
